Irish Stout Wheaten Bread

With St Patrick’s Day just around the corner we thought we’d share this traditional recipe with you to enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 500g whole meal flour
- 30g self-raising flour
- 30g porridge oats
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of sugar
- 1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda
- 15g butter
- 1/2 pint buttermilk
- 1/2 pint stout
Method:
- Place all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well.
- Now gently heat buttermilk, butter & stout.
- Cool slightly and slowly add to dry ingredients.
- In a loaf tin butter well & cover butter with oats.
- Bake at 200 C for 1 hour.
