Merry Stressmas! by Chef James Neilly

So Christmas is almost upon us, that time of year when some sport an apron & blow the dust of a favourite Jamie or Hugh Fern book that’s been the cupboard from last year. Sleeves get rolled up. Or the kitchen gets cleared of “little grown ups”.
Others might opt to cook something that has caught their eye from the seasons growing number of mouth watering food shows on the telly these days, and feel a little easier that they’ve at least witnessed someone cook what their about to.
Either way, the action begins. For most it will be the only day of the year that your whole family makes it round the table together. And that’s a celebration on its own.
Regardless of your choices, or the pre meditated horrors of cooking for other family members who created a kaleidoscope of flavours from their kitchen last year. A thought that you and your sprogs still drool over.
Throughout the month of December The Cookery School is aiming to make this Festive Season stress free and enjoyable this year. If you are already feeling the pressure of planning and preparing a series of restaurant standard meals for the family critics, why not come along to our Christmas Dinner With A Difference class 22nd December from 7pm, our Christmas Day Leftovers Or Boxing Day Feast class on the 10th Dec at 7pm or one of our Cook-A-long, one hour, one dish Christmas Lunches from 1pm on the 16th and 23rd December.
Why not take the hassle out of organising your Christmas get together’s and parties by speaking to our Events team. The Cookery School can cater for every occasion you’re likely to face and we all love to be involved in your special occasions.
We all have to buy for someone who has everything this Christmas. Our public classes cater for all ages, cooking abilities and we offer classes in a range of cooking styles and cuisines. Skip the Christmas queues and purchase a Belfast Cookery School Gift Voucher directly from our website.
One things for sure, the most celebrated meal for many of us is on the way. So enjoy, get your creative juices flowing & have fun.
